Does anyone have much info on this grant from the government. If we carry on working do we still get help or is it if your out of work? Doesn't make sense if we dont get help going to work then everyone will just not work and get the grant killing the economy more?? Does anyone know the facts?
 
if your self employed you can claim and work.

employed. you can work for someone else but not current employer if furloughed.

ltd company owner.
claim but must not work
 
The guidance I read the other week was that self employed could claim wether you work or not
The clause I read the other day stated ...

If you have lost trading profits due to covid19

So if you have worked through it you haven't lost profits ??

You can claim if you’re a self-employed individual or a member of a partnership and you:

  • have submitted your Self Assessment tax return for the tax year 2018 to 2019
  • traded in the tax year 2019 to 2020
  • are trading when you apply, or would be except for coronavirus
  • intend to continue to trade in the tax year 2020 to 2021
  • have lost trading profits due to coronavirus
You will need to confirm to HMRC that your business has been adversely affected by coronavirus. HMRC will as usual use a risk based approach to compliance.
 
Confirm?? Fcuk me there’ll be a few fraud cases knockin about when everyone’s back at it to claw the cash back
 
Anyone got a premises? I’ve got a tiny lock up that costs me £100 a month. I don’t pay business rates as it comes under the small business rates relief scheme. Done the online application on my local councils website and received 10k yesterday into my bank.

ive just looked at the form and says need a business rates number which i dont have

Didn’t ask them for it. They offered
I’m supposed to let my customers that I’ve worked for for years down, so they can get someone else, leaving me to find new clients later. What a great idea!

If your earning your money everyday why take the grant ? Isn’t it for people who are staying at home and not earning ?

Well I’m saving hard to buy the property I currently rent. My comment the other day about getting a new van was just to wind you up. Don’t need a new van. I’m working safely on my own. Not hurting anyone. Gonna have to agree to disagree.

prick do u get some one else to fuel in your van when u fill up or just put your mucky paws on the pump to spread the bug if u have it

I use the 70% alcohol wipes I keep in the van to wipe the pump, as well as wear latex gloves, and pay at the pump. Next question.
