Ok, maybe a simple question for most of you but giving me a headache

Im doing a house at the moment where the guy wants me to leave an old pitch pine window lintel exposed

Its a small window in the bathroom, originally the job was just a re-skim and float to one wall however, when he took the curtain rail off he noticed the lintel, hacked off the surrounding plaster and has asked me to leave it exposed......not sure why as it's gonna look sh1ite, not as if it's a big oak beam or anything and being that it's in the bathroom it may get wet...expand...blah, blah..

Never being put off a challenge and achieving some sweet hand crafted corners a few weeks ago, I'm gonna do it but was hoping someone may be able to offer some advice as to achieving a nice, freehand bullnose edge around this lintel.

He still wants angle beads on the verticals.....:RpS_unsure:

Probably best to do fibrous cast it give very much satisfaction to customer & also in job.
Be good for portfolio & pride in work plus make bread & butter on table :-)

just do it freehand , he will have to hack all the plaster to the wall , you just f/s the wall in sand cement leaving a freehand finish around the lintel .

That was the idea, apart from using s&c......question is, is there any tips for achieving a good bullnose edge around the lintel.....like the plastic bag method for hand drawn bullnose external corners?

Have I just answered my own question :RpS_confused:

fit a rule on the lintel, apply plaster, run a concrete edge trowel to form bullnose.

I sh1t you not however I've just pulled out the mt edge trowel out the garage for this exact reason, but thanks for the tip, I now know it's a workable solution!
