Has the plasterer botched this job?

I have had someone in to plaster/skim the walls in a few rooms. I have never done this before so I have no idea what I'm looking for in the work, however I am pretty disappointed at what I feel is a terrible finish. None of the walls are ready to paint on. Is this normal? Holes, bubbles, cracks, filler on the walls after plastering, seeing tape through them, corners and edges just smudged with filler. I had removed the sockets beforehand and most are covered over so far I have to cut back the plaster to be able to put the sockets back. This is fine, just annoying and extra work for me to do. I haven't yet paid him the second half of the payment and am reluctant too as I'm not happy with it, but not sure where I stand. Still waiting for official invoices to be sent to me and no luck with that either. Any feedback is appreciated!

Arrgghh, won't be paying any more.... Is there any way to report his work so someone else doesn't go through this? I've since heard he has done some shoddy structural work as well and being chased for that too.

You've been caspered and he'll do it again if you ask him back.

I do wonder what goes on in people's heads when theyre trying to get money by doing that.

How much did he charge to do the job
Just over £1700 for plastering work, and put 2 plasterboards in. Replaced coving in a couple of places and put new skirting board up in 2 rooms (I purchased the skirting).

One room about 3.5x3.5m
One room 3x3m
One wall 6.5m long
An indoor porch where a door was removed.

Unfortunately you've been done. If you were quoted/charged £100 for this crap you've still been done. Good quality plastering needs no prep before painting.
Ask for a refund or take him to court, hes not a plasterer!!

Just outside of Manchester. Decided to leave the bit that's terrible till next year. Tried sanding and filling and it's all just coming off in chunks so leaving it alone for a professional. Hopefully a real one next time!
Have you contacted him for a refund?
