Hi All,
probably will get told I’ve been very stupid or man up but need peoples opinion.
I took down my artex ceiling on the weekend which was asbestos positive which was on plasterboard and ontop of a lath and plaster ceiling (fun one)
Took place over a night and day So ceiling was 12m2. Intially I put on the x tex compound on the ceiling dpm on the floor and walls wearing an eclipse ffp3 mask of screwfix both times with type 5/6 coverall.
the ceiling was cut in small panels with a recip saw and multi tool and I was using a pressure sprayer as I went along and basically soaking the ceiling. Some dust was omitted but it looked more of a brown dust so I assumed this was more the lath or plasterboard above the artex
My concerns are about 3/4 of the way through my dpm sheets fell down and I had to remove the debris like maybe like a m2 total by sweeping and wiping.
the artex covered plasterboard was mostly taken off in pieces around 30x30cm pieces
Then next day when taking it to a asbestos Center near me all bags were soaked and the dpm sheets we’re soaked and bagged
my concerns are
the Friday night as I still had a short beard on he mask kept riding up not providing a face fitting
Saturday it was a much tighter fit
I’ve done work with a mask before in nieveity like removing coving when artex asbestos was attached to the bottom side but nothing like this
the other ceilings are getting done by a specialist but have I already made a monumental error.
applogies I know they is alot of posts of this nature but none with the method I have done with
