If I was a betting man I'd put @Wezlys van and tools to be cleaner than most!? :RpS_thumbup:
All my tools are kept in mint condition but back of the landy can be a bit untidy especially if I'm in a rush to get home??

16 inches lol, yeah I know that's the right way just feeling I'm wasting time, got stilts but don't trust them..

Haha yes i could of said 16 inchs but im different lol i know what u mean , all depends on the size but if anything 2 hop ups and a batten , or 4 hop ups and 3 battens , one on each side and a slider on top of them that u work down the room :RpS_thumbsup:

Ave also got beer crates , and medium trestles and big trestles and some other ones that u run the 2 side battens like floor joists and then side the other going across on them so dont usually get stuck what ever the height lol

Am I the only 1 that doesn't like to be to high up when doing ceilings???? prefer to be a good foot below at least!!!

I'm with you on that I hate being too close to the ceiling.
For me On a standard 2.4 room height my hop ups will be 350mm.

Too low, six inches max,I measure hand height from top of my head to ceiling

Zombie u must be nakad when u finish a ceiling stretching that high . Ehh john that must be the old school measure ! Its the way a got taught off the old boy. U can feel the difference when your to low like

Cant understand why you would prefere it that way ? More slops in ur face ..... Less of a reach ...... And harder on your arms lol

Lol Thats assuming I drop anything carl.
From that height stepping backwards on a long hop up I can cover an 8ft board in one stroke mate, I find that easier then having my head almost touching the ceiling and trying to pass my arm over the top of my head.
Oh and being 6' 7" helps.

Actually I was lying about being 6'7", im 6ft and 7" ;-)

I just buy the extra long, 500mm high ali hop ups and cut the legs down 150mm.
You only need cut the legs off straight as the rubber feet have the splayed angles inside them.
Screw the feet back on with some wafer headed screws job done.

thanks scotie...used to use 15-23 stilts and 18-30 stilts for higher lids at 1 time when I used to have a lad but ive fallen out with them over last couple of yrs since being on my jacks only on domestics these days so theres never to much meterage to warrant em anyhows...

btw what did you use to cut your hop up down with just a jigsaw with metal blade?

@scottie5 do you knock up one bag at a time or 2 and three at same time? If on large area.

Usually I go for a 3 bag mix, lay in with the same gear flatten with the speed skim then depending how I feel maybe have another small one, half a bucket, lay that in then flatten. Good wash out then straight back on it.

man after my own heart, I used to work with a spread that would knock up 2 bags in one tub and a 3rd like p1ss in another. He would scratch the first 2 by the time that was on the 3rd bag had picked up and he would lay in with that. He would do that 3 times a day, never broke a sweat

Lol.
That was meant for another post, its just I've got some day work coming up and wanted to know if I could get away with using the little black bucket, or should I try and buy a smaller one.

Thing is oli I have genuinely never known anything different, since coming out of my time its always been 3 good gauges a day every day.
Theres alot knock it, but I have no injuries or illnesses I feel in rude health.
