my brother told me of his attempt to work on a local site.
macalpines would not allow you on site without a orange light on the roof of the vans, so went and purchased one put it on the roof and was told now you need writen permission to enter site !
go and park in site car park about half a mile away and wait for macalpines bus to take you and tools on to site.

i have not been on a site for about fiffteen years now and do not know how anyone puts up with it.

It's about time they made building sites a little bit safer. In 20 yrs time they should have got rid of most of the dangerous situations, trip hazards etc

Orange light Feck Sake who makes this up? some guy with a beard me thinks eddie what do you think.

Good point Henry, a just in case an air ambulance helicopter was about to land on the building site to save someone from dying from carbon monoxide poisoning from the dumper.

You wouldn't want to end up in court because the helicopter landed on your van with no flashing light on it :RpS_thumbup:

The fifth emergency service, the plasterer :RpS_laugh:

In 10 years time we wont need scaffolding or hop ups. we will be in the marty mcfly dimension of hover boards or maybe thats the name of BG next invention

Carrillion wont let you wear your own woolly hat under a hard hat anymore.not safe enough.but they have an alternative. For just 6pounds! Yes 6 quid you can have their own hats that aparently fit within the hardhat.more safer? Hmm whats next. Carillion safety pants for a tenner?

I have been on a carillion site and they were a nightmare but my personal favourite has got to be laing o'rourkes iff takes a day to get your self on site then they have weird meetings in the mornings where they gather the whole site and do talks. Im on a leadbitter site at the moment which is quite relaxed compared to the rest.

My mate has a company working for the NHS, the system is as crooked as fcuk he has to bung the contracts managers to get the work he recently lost a £25000 painting contract to a bigger company who whent in at £57000 because they said the bigger companies method statements etc. were better, well if thats not a misuse of H&S i dont know bigger bung i would say.

leadbitter are awful, but carrillion i hate, 3 hrs before i get to even see the job, and never signed my name so many times in an induction, they are just a waste of time full of pen pushers!!
they boast couple of years without major accident. there bloody will be if they dont stop, that pen will be shoved..............!!!

The Health and Safety at Work Act outlines the legal requirements of a company in protecting its employees. It aims to secure the health, safety and welfare of all employees while at work alongside monitoring the use and emission of certain dangerous substances.

We were working in a cupboard today with a dip in the middle of the floor, we had to use a crate not a hop up as the room was tight and there was no space for the legs of a hop up which was more dangerous
The site agent walked in said h+s will be here soon he will want you to get off that crate

you're post means nothing absolutely nothing common sense applies at all times and the contractor must forsee his own health and safety at all times, in this case a hop up was not appropriate, subcontractors are surrounded by idiots who go home to their fat ugly wives every night who then in turn go to work next day and try to upset every f**k*r they bump into......h+s wankers

Some mates of mine are working on the New Spurs training ground and you are not allowed to sharpen your pencil with a Stanley you have to use a pencil sharpener.

Because a Stanley would be lethal in the hands of a tradesman!:-0

Who makes all this shoit up FFS :RpS_mad:
