I've recently had my chimney breast plastered with heat proof plaster onto some kind of fireboarding (glasroc perhaps?). The problem is obviously the finish isn't great on the plaster. I have two options that i am aware of.
1) Try and sand the heat proof plaster (I hear this is very difficult as it is so hard)
2) Skim over the heat proof plaster with normal plaster and hope it does not crack.
I am not a plasterer, just after some advice so i am not upto speed with a lot of terms But i am desperate for help.
