Can anyone recomment a good 240 / 110 heater. Need one for a domestic renovation job where the central heating is turned off...

Thanks

I'd agree with what's written above - what about hiring an industrial one? On most jobs I've been on they tend to use either to gas fired drums - not nice to work around or the infra-red type - they are better - just don't point them directly at wall/ceiling - one per domestic room is ok. You'll have to judge for yourself if you can work with it on or just use it for drying out.

We were using the gas space heaters on friday an the finish was still freezin on the bottoms of the walls the tops were fine tho

when i was inside we used to dust sheet the door over and leave the oil filled heaters over night in the room. as long as you have something around the doors the heat will stay in the room better.

calor gas heaters are good
The trouble with calor gas heaters is they throw a lot of moisture off so the plaster seems to hang around for ages and you cant get a decent finish.Have one of those propane space heaters myself but never use it so have them infra red heaters at about £5.99 each and they warm the place up ok.

Was there a house to come back to in the morning or just a pile of smoking embers? ;D

i bought a couple of rhino (ceramic) heaters. £75 each i think. good buy in my opinion but like most things depends on how how much you want to spend. might be worth a look though. ;)

No you knob, you just put it on low to keep the temps up and you should always have it on a breaker at the plug. but the oil filled ones are good its when you start using cheap heaters you will have problems.

Set fire to your labourer and get him to keep running from room to room.

Okay it might not last that long but it'd be f*ckin funny ;D

Very good! Burning lab's a cracking idea. Will have to gag him to prevent him from screaming too much tho! It's alright being warm, but if you can't hear the radio there's just no point...!
