dave, you dont have to like every post :RpS_thumbup: what about sapphire plastering, that's in a similar vein .. or platinum :RpS_unsure: diamond could make people think of rough diamond ...... IMHO

nice one jurek your not far from me. me and some mates where discussing it the other night and ive thought about apha plastering contractors for the name f the company. it means the best like a wolf but is also first in the phonebook. thanks for thinking about it though :RpS_biggrin:

the qualification does not make you a plasterer, dave. though its a good start. as has been said you do need the experience. theres a thread on here in a similar vein. as for the "some" who do not have your qualifications, there will be top notch spreads amongst them. there will also be ones who have never developed since the first day they picked up a trowel. the same with a course. you've got to want it. you've got to be perfectionist on every job. believe to achieve, dave, believe to achieve. that is the mantra that i live by. it has worked for me. i am approaching middle age and have a modest income and a fifteen year old van.

also. dont try and do all things at once. that is why i have never climbed everest or jumped out of a plane. because everything after would be an anticlimax. leave some things for tomorrow.

good luck.

why did your wife leave you .... :RpS_confused:

wrong juek it does make me a plasterer. i didnt pay fifteen hundred quid mate to be told i was'nt. my wife left me mate because she had an afair. now the guy that she had it with has left her as well :RpS_biggrin: your a funny guy but if that is all your saying has done for you i would change it :RpS_biggrin:

FFS, you think you can become plasterer in 7 weeks? It takes years of working experience and build up reputation and knowledge - don't even think of become teacher while you have limited knowledge - I always respect teacher who have been in trade for years like flynnyman who wants to be teacher, my advice is start as plasterer labourer and work all the way up. OTT

i did'nt do the coarse to be a laborer. i did it so i can call myself a plasterer and have the papers to show that and that is why i want the other paperwork to add to it. if i could'nt do the work i would'nt of got the quals. i explained that i rang other plasterers to work with but they did not want to know mate. its dog eat dog maybe they will regret it some time soon. as someone said i want the teacher thing for years to come not now.:RpS_biggrin:

I wish you all the best of luck in your change in career Dave but don't rely on loads of certificates to get work? At the end of the day you can have every certificate there is but if you can't do the business where it counts !?? Am not being funny with you just trying to help. Like some of the lads said, build your reputation up slowly by doing your jobs and progress from there. All the best and keep us posted how your getting on :RpS_thumbup:

Chill. I was joking. My van is ten years old. I'm glad you're not local or I'd have no customers left.

Dave, do plenty jobs for family & friends for mates rates to build up confidence, Its good that you've got the qualifications but its practice and experience that you need to build up, its knowing what to do when things go wrong, learning by your mistakes, having the right tools for every situation. takes years to become a plasterer but we all start somewhere. Good luck.
