HELP! Is this a structural issue?

Hi,

I was wondering if anyone could advise. I went to see a property to buy but I noticed that the stairs have cracks underneath them, and also the ceiling has cracks in it.

Are these a worry? Do they just need filled and replastered or is it a sign of subsidence and structural damage?

The house is semi detached built in 2003 and is very very close proximity to a busy rail line.

Thanks
Tom

Be alright probably long term at a long distance appraisal.
Roof joists soaked in rain
Roof laid
Ceiling boarded and skimmed
Joists shrunk after being roofed and took ceiling up with them

Looks like someone has had a bash at filling under the stairs already in the past too they was probably soaked in rain aswell

why buy a house close to a railway line?

are they bit cheaper as no fker wants em?

is your house timber frame by anychance.?

ceiling is where ita been taped and jointed. the paper tapes have peeled off..

under stairs ia where plaster meets timber.

im afraid past 20 years or so new builds are total shite . thrown up with the cheapest methods and cheapest trades and cheapest standards
