Help! my heads batterd flash setting

Right chaps I've got problems on a job, a new build all plasterboarded. When skimming it with board finish it is setting very quickly and dragging when trying to trowel it up. So I leave it til it doesn't drag and then when I try again it seems i have to go over it like im putting it on again to try and sort it out. Then I start getting black spots(dry spots) straight away about 45 mins after mixing and then there are parts of the wall that are soft as shite. So I try to make it the best I can and then the black areas are peeling and won't take fat to fill. Very strange, I've been skimming for 10 years+ and never come across this b4. yeah ive come across skim that goes off to quick but not in a way that it drags like this. Any suggestions on why would be good guys cause my heads battered. These are my thinkings... The job does have a gas blower on it, they use it to air rooms out the day b4 i go in them ? or could moisture of got to bags? but if its moisture to the bags surely it would all go off at the same rate wouldn't it?

Some of the boards (ceilings ones)have been up about 3 months and walls about 4 weeks but new boards have been put in alot of rooms last week. the rooms have been heated cause builders are paranoid about damp cause they had it other rooms they boarded b4 windows were fitted

boards to dry, they need a coat of pva.
Glad someone said this cause I've put a coat on walls today what i want to hit tomorrow and ill put another coat on b4 I start. Do you think two coats will be enough and would you do it when pva is tacky or dry? cheers

it will be trial and error. 2 coats should be ample . you may have to have 3 small hits.

Grit it pal
Don't think they are gona be happy with me suggesting that in the morning lol. I think I'll have to try pva first cause there are 10 large rooms boarded out. Thats alot of tubs of grit man. But I suppose if they are still being a pain after pva they will have to stump the cost. Cheers pal

I was gonna say diluted gyprime then realised what is going on here man :wtf:

Yeah they should of waited for windows b4 boarding. The windows got delayed and they started boarding a few days b4 they were ment to be fitted. I wish I could walk away but I've done all up stairs and that's been fine, apart from the hall ceiling that's when I started to relse there was something wrong. But It all makes sense now. The blower has been downstairs and it's cooked the boards with the air passing though. So yeah mate a f**king nightmare
