Hi everyone

I've been on the forum a while now and enjoy all it offers and I'm after abit of help . My company is going good at the minute regular work on going and more coming in but my problem is I've been asked by a builder to quote a large job he's doing . Basically it involves roughly 1000 plasterboards that need to be fixed and dotted then the usual 2 coats of plaster etc he's asked me to work my quote out on a price per metre to just board and skim as he's supplying materials and if I'm honest I'm stuck at what to charge as I normally work on a job price / day rate . All advice will be appreciated

Dont really discuss prices on here mate
How many metres do you think you can do a day
what's your day rate/ or what do you want to earn
Small calculation there's your answer

Simo.with all due respect, if you run a plastering company you should know the answer to this surely?
How are you running a firm without knowing what to charge customers wether you work on a day rate or not?

So youve been lurking here since february and your first post isnt an introduction like everyone elses, but a how do i price a job. When you say your company do you mean you own it and have lads working for you? Think of how much you would charge to supply materials to board and skim 50sq metres. then take off the price of the materials. now take the number you have left and divide it by 50. this will give you a metre price.

Hi Mate the going rate for builders for this type of work is £1.70m2 for skim & £1.50m2 for dab.
Stick to these rates & you won't go wrong :RpS_thumbup:

Clearly an error on the hall stairs and landing price then. It was just the one house and not the street! ;-)

Good job you pointed it out as i typed it wrong,

So you only want half the original quote now? Nice one. I knew you were an honest bloke, good job I didn't take any notice of the PM's. :RpS_lol:

OK, well how about you do this job real cheap with a nice discount? There's plenty of other work coming up too. :RpS_drool:

Hope it's only 1 set a day jobs? :-)
