Hi all,
If this is against the rules, sincerest apologies and can the mods please delete.
I had a new bathroom done recently. Unfortunately the bathroom fitter's regular plasterer had broken his leg, so he arranged for another guy (from Checkatrade) to do the plastering.
Was due to do so last Saturday, it was a rather nice day but he had a 'flat tyre' - how convenient - he did turn up Monday though. I was at work and couldn't oversee, so my dear old mother popped round to keep an eye on things. Plasterer did his bit, looked ok to my old mum and she told him so. He nipped round to the bathroom fitter who couldn't be at mine during the day, paid him and sent him on his way.
The main walls and ceilings have brown coloured plaster on, whilst some walls (notably behind the toilet) and on plasterboard have this white powdery stuff. The main walls and ceiling look fine, flat and smooth. Have attached some other results though:
1 - Just above the toilet
2 - False wall/plasterboard. That white stuff, left like this.
3 - Bit of plaster has fallen away from the ceiling
4 - Wall/edge of vanity unit. Said he couldn't do much with this 4 inch wide gap.
Bathroom fitter was unhappy, said he shouldn't leave us to do half the work! He's sanded down some of the white stuff to a smooth finish, but some of the remainder was still wet and was for a day or two. He contacted the plasterer, who pretty much said he had his money and wasn't going to do anything about it.
Just how out of order is the plasterer? Looking for a professional viewpoint on what you guys would do and what you feel is a completed job?
Would really help me, as to be honest I have no clue at all about plastering.
Thanks all in advance.
