40 years for me as well and can remember the first day like it was yesterday. Thought it was a right hoot.

I remember my first day, it was shite.
Once you get over a couple of months, you're stronger and you've gained a second skin.
It's been an education, there's a certain pride in being skilled.
When I was a kid, getting a trade was a big deal, that ideal has been devalued.

A few years after I was allowed out in the world with it from college, under stairs and sheds n shithouses ! Old-school old boys were strict fekers !

.I.m 47 in august. I swear I was celebrating my 21.st 2 weeks ago. I could be dead tomoz and defo half way through my life. Soon as this extensions done I will defo be cutting back more.

This job is hard to get motivated in winter without all this s**t going on !! I know a few who have give it neck !! If your the wrong side of fifty its worse !!

It becomes 24hrs a day, or seems like it when you’ve got building stuff going on and you’re in the building trade. I’ve tried to stop worrying about it and getting stressed about deadlines. It’ll get done and then seem like it never happened.

I want it done ASAP inside . I don't mind being out side late in summer . ( with a hat and factor 50 on ) @algeeman and @TopSpread are coming to stop for weekend to help soon bless em
