Hi there, i have worked in the building trade, and many other jobs, and am keen on DIY, woodwork, hard landscape, gardening, reading, music, pets and caravanning.
Started not long ago on some cement plastering around the home, repairing buildings etc, and at present I'm waiting for a Tyrolean mortar gun to be delivered. I scratch coated an outside wall that had a blown roughcast, I've put on a scratch coat and a topcoat; but couldn't get the dry dash to stay on the wall; thats why I'm looking at Tyrolean. I'm looking for any info at present on this, and if i can use a mortar coat other than having to buy special mortar for it.

Wot i should have said was i was wondering if i can use a normal sand and cement mix in it?

Welcome, you'll get plenty of good advice here.

When you say spray the mortar; do you mean the mortar i made myself? if so, what ratio do i make? I gather it has to be like a slurry mix?

Or do you mean the stuff that has to be bought for it?

Well, so much for plenty of good advice. no-one is forthcoming re tyrolean, is it a trade secret? will you be shot at dawn for telling someone about it? I hardly think so. While i thank everyone concerned for the welcome, i think i'll log off. Thanks anyway, it isnt working out, im sorry.
