Please keep us posted about what happens, Hope it all works out for you.So 7 days notice to finish is today, some of the wall lights went back on yesterday....
From here on in we are following legal advice.
Thank you all
What I was thinking . Get as much back of the guy who did it and try to avoid court as that could just cause more stress.I don’t know much about thin coat but would what’s done be suitable to go straight over with a bucket coat or would it all have to come off?
You could go over it, depends how bad the humps are with how much dubbing out required.I don’t know much about thin coat but would what’s done be suitable to go straight over with a bucket coat or would it all have to come off?
How much was left to pay him?I will see what Wezly says when he comes over. The guy isnt going to give me any money back at all as he says he’s out of pocket doing it twice. I begrudge even paying£5500 for what I have been left with so I’m thinking court is the only option at this point.
Should of told him he should of done it right first time.I will see what Wezly says when he comes over. Agree , unfortunately , think judge will only go as far as a compromise and possibly not worth the hassle.Should of told him he should of done it right first time.
Dont know what your chances will be like in court
What do you mean a compromise?Agree , unfortunately , think judge will only go as far as a compromise and possibly not worth the hassle.
Tyrolean
Very little compensation to put up with it , and clean up the slabs ,the judge will take into consideration the plasterer has already had another go at no profit .What do you mean a compromise?
But he has taking money for a job that is clearly too much for him, he must be held responsible on the homeowner being able to have an 8 grand finish on her home.Very little compensation to put up with it , and clean up the slabs ,the judge will take into consideration the plasterer has already had another go at no profit .
3000 from the original quote and 1000 extra to remove and redoHow much was left to pay him?
So you Would be happy him working on someone else’s property?I really can’t say, not yet. I feel I can’t do that if we get a refund.
God no, I’m just not sure where I stand legally yet.So you Would be happy him working on someone else’s property?
You've definitely got to take it to court, those images are shocking, especially when compared to pictures of good work on this thread. It doesn't matter was what quoted the job should be to a satisfactory standard, the fact you were also charged top rate makes it even more shocking mind. Really hope he gets what he deserves for it. Out of interest does he have much of an online presence? If he has loads of good reviews etc he may be less hesitant to fold the company and start another, if he's nowhere to be seen online it's very little loss to him if it's a ltd company I thinkI will see what Wezly says when he comes over. That’s exactly my worry, I’ve since found out he folded a previous company and this is a new one with a slightly different name. I did pay the money into his personal account though, not business account. I’m not sure if that means I can claim from him directlyYou've definitely got to take it to court, those images are shocking, especially when compared to pictures of good work on this thread. Hmm that was my worry, noone with that quality of work could of been trading for to long. You might get lucky that's it's paid into his personal account though, he might have made a school boy error there. Fingers crossed for you anywayThat’s exactly my worry, I’ve since found out he folded a previous company and this is a new one with a slightly different name. He's just hopes you're a mug, wants to get your money and go onto the next one until he's forced to change his company againWe are still being asked to pay the remaining balance I’m so angry. It’s like he doesn’t even see there is a problem!
Excuse my French . Tell him to f**k off. Or get ye biggest friend to tell him. He.s a bully and a thiefWe are still being asked to pay the remaining balance I’m so angry. It’s like he doesn’t even see there is a problem!
He won’t that is his level of work, probably stands back and thinks it’s a good job. Lucky you have us to put you right. We are still being asked to pay the remaining balance I’m so angry. It’s like he doesn’t even see there is a problem!
You wouldn’t believe the barrage of messages from him. He’s now trying to put words in our mouths against each other I have just about had enough
Agree I would also never go to a guys house I have a prob with and kick of to his wife. Please bare with me im old fashioned & straight talking.
Stop all contact yourself and let your husband deal with him and this situation.
He should step up to the mark and show his metal and shield you from this.
Theres absoloutley no way on this earth my wife would have to deal with an irrate builder i would die of shame first.
He needs to grow a pair of bollox if hes not the sort to deal with other nen in the old fashioned way then he needs to make legal arrangements.
Book a spa fof a night tell him to sort hs s**t out and leave tgem to it!
Goid luck x
