My house was built in 1989 with smooth plaster skimmed walls I’m going to be sanding some of the walls down where needed what are the chances of there being asbestos in the skim mix they put all the walls

But you should PP3 mask up anyway - as all dust is s**t and harmful

Asbestos or not - it'll still do you damage

Your safe enough mate crack on forget the tubes on here 90 percent of them aren't plasterer's anyway

I'm a little baffled as to where you even got the idea that finish plaster might contain asbestos? I've not heard a single person say that or ask about it in my 40+ years in the trade.

one of my mates mentioned it to me and got me paranoid I didn’t think it would but I thought I would ask to satisfy my curiosity thank you for clearing that up appreciate it
