How much did you get paid when you were an apprentice???

well i got paid £7.40 per week and that was for 40 hours = 18.5p per hour... but it lasted me all week and i had to give my mother £4.00 of that and a pint was 10p
I now charge £50.00 per hour or the equivelent in M2 so if there are any mathematicians out there can you work out the inflation over the last 36 years for me
 
20 per week with 2 spreads that were on price on a job in watford on the hod all sand and cement when job waas over .... 12 weeks got the sack for not comin in on the saterday on the last house ,.,.........got scankeed thats wy im bitter :'(
 
hahha i pay my son £7.00 per hour now while he is learning and he thinks im exploiting him... cheeky sod... anyway if i paid him more he would just drink it... and he doesnt pay rent either and eats like a horse

i was never an apprentice (3 month plastering course later in life) but used to get about 150 a week in belfast N ireland when i was 19 as a soldier
 
no exploitation there let him reads this posts 7 popund an hour good
i never got taught just learnt while labouring for 3 outside spreads 50 a day start at 6.30 mixin even if rainin theyb come in at 7 30 and e xpect bins to be on scaffold u waitin to shoval it on their hawks from the bin one spread up one in middle and below me sweatin till 7 in the summer had to cl;ean out bins and windows while they in pub

i started on £40 notes aday standing round went up to £60 then after i could skim i got £80 theni hit the big time and went 4 it me self:-)
 
i was getting 35 a day in 1984 and in 1988 when i was getting married i was on 300 a week. but it looks like my old man paid me well.
 
I started on £120 a week working for two spreads on site work went up to £150 after a year , i think it was in the early 80s ???
 
I started in 1981 labouring on two some times three spreads and got £51 a week but still managed to get p@ssed every night and bought my first house at nineteen. 8)

i was 32 when i started ...and i wouldnt work for that money and couldnt work for that money.....went on a basic course...employed an old hand who was about to retire and fast tracked myself to learn this trade.....lived and breathed it for 6 years now......and there still sooooo much more to learn.........

When I started I got £50 a day, then got on the trowel it went up to £80, after what felt like forever got it up to £100 then not long after that went on my own with a labourer! Never looked back!! Great being your own boss!

no bull mate. at yard for 6 finnished at half 4 . 5 days a aweek got an extra 15 if i wrkd satday. and that was only 6 year ago. look bac and dnt no how i stuck it owt. payed of now though mate.
 
Mine rose to £110 when i was 18 and passed my test,i then i got a van too,went out celebrating got piss ed got cuaght got 12 month ban lost the van wage drop to £90

same as maggie was a bitch, yts taken on for 2 years for cheap labour then get f@cked off, not that im bitter,lol
 
ah the youth training scheme remember it well £27.50 for me also for six months then a pay rise up to £40 a week when i was set on.Used to run a car and go out every night was well made up.
