i heard of a fella who did a similar join of 3 curves but much tighter, finished it with a glass milk bottle.just thinking....how about a small cheap football.my boys peppa pig one could go missing, similar ceiling scenario for me next week.

ive used a milk bottle to run repair cornice before and to create a cove where render met screed so the walls and floor had no square angles but not on plaster before

haha whywhat did you do it with

Dont have a flexitrowel so just brushed it and worked it in as best i could with the nose of my trowel. Then when it stiffened I smoothed it with a plastic bag over the heel of my hand.

It pissed me off quite badly at one point, harder than it looks.

the ol plastic bag does come in very handy sometimes always have one in me tool bucket those plastic paint guards are quite usefull too thier very flexible once the plaster has picked up a bit thier ideal
2550670 - paint guard

i've got a bit of old saw blade for things like that cieling. its about 10" long so i've enough leverage to bend it to the right radius. Works ok, admittedly ive only used it about 5/6 times.

I use one of these bad boys everytime marra. specially on loft conversions How would you.....?

Fair play those ceilings are a mare to do last one I did the customer wanted it straight lines instead of it being rolled but luckily the boarding was quality so it turned out ok.

They're from refina aren't they? I always wondered what they were for.

Danny...a bag on the heel of your hand? I think you mean palm of your hand or heel of your foot... Although you are a cellik fan lol

Lol I know the heel of the hand is the bit closest to the wrist, but wtf is cellik. :RpS_unsure:

artisan is that rubber???

Yes marra. they are mustard for curving angles. all the loft conversion we do are boarded by the chippies and either they are pissed or they just cant be arsed to get the ceiling angles straight.. or maybe both!! so its better to curve them so they hide the dodgy angles. and they are good for giving the apprentice a clip round the ear....:RpS_laugh:. they are mainly used by tapers, but any clown can tape joints.........:RpS_thumbsup:
