From one of my currant customers always a nice thing to have , on opening it i see it was from coutts Bank ( very exclusive private bank in the strand London ) this is the bank used by the royal family ! and i believe you have to be invited to open an account ,and that you have to keep a million pounds on account at all times , anyway this is about the fourth time in my working life i have been payed by couttts cheque , in 38 years, so i was just wondering how many other guys have received these cheques ! and how many, ? Its cash or internet transfer for me..........**** gettings cheques its another week to get ya money. so wether its a cu@ts cheque or not its a :RpS_thumbdn: from me
 
Customer we were working for in Notting hill went to coutts to draw out £3000 in cash for a floorboard delivery, they were non too helpful, cash aaah aaah germs aaah
 
never heard of coutts is it a southern thing? I got loads of cheque's before xmas, they annoy me because 1. its not cash and 2, it could bounce. Loads of people doing bank transfers recently which I don't mind at all though it is lovely to go home with a wad in ya pocket :-)

coutts cheques never bounce ! as you have to have about i million pounds on account !!thats part of the BS .........
 
i have had cheques drawn on banks overseas, in tax havens ,they can take up to 30 days to clear.then your bank will charge you £10 clearing charge.
 
I got one from a customer a few years back. All I did was patch up round a downlight so was done in less than an hour and a half. She says how much, I say £70, she says thats not enough and gives me a blank cheque telling me to fill it in myself once i have worked out how much it really should be!! i insisted she fill it in for £70 so she did begrudgingly. Have been back for other jobe three times since. Really nice people. He bought his son a ferrari for his wedding present but forgot he had ordered it and so bought a porsche as well. Both got delivered the same day. Chauffeur was happy as he had a new toy to play in

a bank like that still fncking about with cheques:RpS_confused:

if you had a job for a very famouse person, someone you really liked and it was only for £30-£40 and they paid you with a cheque would you cash it or would you save it
