I had bricklaying done as part of building extensions etc about 13 years ago and the bricklayer used his labourer to do the bagging with bricklaying sand(contains some clay) and cement(Could have also used some PVA). Anyway the building work was never fully completed, details and painting to do so about a month ago I decided to get into finishing exterior with paint.
I didn't like the finish of the bagging, too wavy, so went over a section of about 6m2 with what is known here as Acrylic Render, a manufactured bagged product. A month later and I find some sections are powdery and some can be peeled off in small sheets. I've done small amounts of cement render and bagging over the years(Successfully) but have never used the Acrylic product before. Also very dry here for around 3 months now but I did wet the wall down beforehand AND followed instructions on the bag eg. using correct amount of water and power mixed. Thickness was between 2 and 10mm.
I'm a carpenter and welder(There's my problem;-) So over to the experts.
