Is this career worth it? (Or is it even just a job?!)

Here's a thing about work, a job is a job and sooner or later you get sick of it, true?
I've got a job booked in with a high flying accountant for a large company later this month and he's envious of me working for myself and doing something I enjoy!! He was telling me that he's sick of what he does etc....but I suppose once you've got so far into a career/job it's too hard to change for one reason or another, like my accountant could he really take the pay cut from say 50k to start out as a plasterer on £50 a day?
The nack with it is to be happy in what you do!
