Hi guys. I'm Donna from Hazlemere. I have had a plasterer in the past few days and I am not sure about the standard of his work. I have pulled him on a few things I am not happy with but he has the gift of the gab and has told me that the things I have mentioned could not be done any other way. An example is around a window frame. There are rusty metal edges on the one in the kitchen and he has just painted something on them and then plasterered up to them and it looks awful. He has also done an archway that goes into the kitchen from the hall. The doorframe has been taken out and an archway put in. But the edge of the arch seems to stick out about a centimetre so that it slopes back into the wall. And where the metal edges are on the wall he has tapered the plaster out to meet the archway edges. It's hard to explain but it looks terrible. He is due to finish tomorrow and I should be paying him but I am not sure what to do. Does this sound okay to you. If I can say to him that I have asked some other plasterers it would back me up. I won't use your names of course. I just feel let down because I wanted it to look good and it doesn't.
