Ive watched guys doing this whilst on holiday a couple of times, had a conversation with one.. Yeh it does look rough but because of the heat, the methods have to be so different than we use here, small amounts literally slapped on with a brick / pointing trowel seems to be the standard method in these countries then hosing it down throughout the day trying to stop it drying out too fast until set or sun goes down. Yet im sure some of our building methods will have looked primitive to some other countries until now....
