Always get a decent terms and conditions down before I start anything.
But just have your wits about you as on larger contracts the builder or developer are basically using you as a bank using your money to fund projects and paying you on terms usually once they've been paid,so in effect using your money on materials and labour as cash flow for themselves.

Most small builders are using this to finish the last job or start the next, f**k financing someone else's gaff.

I am on 90 day payment terms with a lot of companies... it can be brutal but you get by if you know those terms before you agree
