Job off the good old forum

I've been lucky enough to win a couple of jobs off the forum, this one was a real challenge. Shadow gap beads around floor line and doors and yes blockwork was terrible so was a nightmare to get straight. A couple of curved walls, a curved ceiling and the hallway from hell (112m2 on 4 walls , at height with 3 different floor levels) 770m2 in total on this bungalow, said it before and I'll say it again; it pays to stay involved with this place. It's no tdf but it's pretty good [emoji106]

See the lovely neat beaded edge along the skirting line? That's a shadow bead. Nice alternative to skirting boards and architraves. (Especially when it's done well)

Two types, one has a Chanel like this

Thanks Oli i get it now it's a plasterboard stop end bead with a a little gap that makes the shadow, would have never heard of them without this thread

I spent a full day doing them. I must have lost the head evey 20 min my labourer was out the back of the job digging Foundation's he refused to come in because I was kicking everything around me and blaming the hole would lol

Did you use your finger to clean them out !!!
I loose patience and use a pointing trowel and scuff the walls.

Spray them with wd40 first, stops skim sticking. Got that tip off here

they are pointless, our local hospital was covered in shadow beads, walls float and set then sprayed with plaster pack so they only had to hose the walls down. on completion the nhs would not accept them as they are a dust trap, the last thing you want in a hospital. they all had to be filled in and the walls resprayed.
