when people asked for a price over the phone i always think they're time wasters, i give them a silly cheap quote and if they say when can you do it i say i cant i'm too busy...goodbye

you need to a platform or mini scaf or something. you'll do your back in standing on ladders all day. plus it will be quicker

I set up a scaffold for most ceilings. Might take a bit longer setting up but makes it so much easier. Never understand guys doing big ceilings off a pair of steps
 
I price off pictures every week for small jobs. Not arsed to go price and talk s**t tbh. Just get the pictures give the price and forget about it. If you get the job go if it's not what you got on the pictures just say wtf is this. It's going to cost more money. If you get the impression that the client is not happy about it being more money just f**k off to another job. Or in my case go home. 99% of the time it's sound when you get there. I'd say u where just on lucky @Lodan

Yeah I should, got some scaffold boards but not got round to getting any tressles, the lower ceilings are ok as can just use the hop up but the high ones are a bit of a ballache

To be honest when I explained in detail the additional prep he accepted it, was funny though as he said I just thought youd fill them with the plaster as you plastered the walls...he'd took skirting off that was nearly a foot tall and it was all back to the brick behind them:sorprendido3:

A few of our jobs through the scheme have been the opposite, not interested in the price just come and do the work then invoice them after. They want it done properly not cheap. I did one on behalf of BG and it was a magnetic job. The client wasn't sure of the exact measurements of the wall so i didn't know if i needed 3 bags or 4....the answer was just order ten so we're covered. I ordered 5 and used 3.

Invoice got paid without question and even got a thank you for the service off the client a

He's back and even asked on the first day if I wanted paying day by day, I said just pay me at the end when your happy...if you want i'll post up his positive feedback when he leaves it

I would give you a nice customer reference but i know you only do magnetic and not got one for that:(.....im sure you'll get one eventually you seem like a tryer(y)

I was only being sarcastic mate you know a few on here would of got tetchy if you said you could I know @superspread well he taught me all I know and without kissing Arse he taught me well and if I'm ever in crap I can ring him for advice he is a member of that scheme and said if he don't hear anything from it nothing has been lost but if gained from it it's a touch me myself I've been let down or they haven't worked well for me I.e my builder book a builder ect and I felt I was dealing with a lot of messers but that's probably more in London than else where plus I get enough of my own stuff to keep me busy, your not losing and at least it's working for you maybe you and @theplasterman are proof it does work and nice when you get a thanks from a customer it seems rare these days I've had a run of 3 builders lately that have put me off plastering but got a good number at min so rough with smooth
 
I always go to see a job before giving a price .That way i can see if the woman of the house is milf and if not price goes up .

:risas: Yeah I get to many oldish people or deal with the bloke or frumpy women although I do a lot of work for a company as and when and a few of birds in office are alright

I want to know here all the sexy bored housewives are that they promised us on the course....i think the must have been telling fibs.....don't think my standards could go much lower so it cant be that
