had to do that a few years ago in old gang on 3 blocks of apartments, scrimmed and then taped in ceiling corners. architect said it was to reinforce joints. Got to be a bit of a pisser after a while as our boss was gettin the latt labourers to do it ahead of us and they would leave **** rough work sometimes...... scraping snots off before doing a ceiling cause the other guy is a lazy auld ****. never failed though. :RpS_thumbsup:

they just didn't want to put coving up!:RpS_biggrin:

How the fck is it a better job? it takes longer so cost the client more money as if things aren't hard enough anyway, how can it be better than normal plastering which has stood the test of time, never heard so much nonsense in my life, joint filling before skimming= total bollax

The majority agrees. Although I will be paid for it, looks like less was done when invoice goes in.

so it costs more yes I agree but it's still a better job.

have often filled joints with lafarge bonding adhesive on ceilings especially if they are suspended, it does reinforce better.

I fill the joints with multi b4 setting, done it for many years, but not for the reasons the architect wants it done .
