I've rarely seen it, but I was told they were to use as a plumb/depth guide for the scratch coat.
These are flush with the face of the bricks mate. I just can't work out what purpose they serve? Maybe the heritage plaisterer will have the knowledge?

I believe as I type he's using some heritage bonding to get some heritage boarding reading for the heritage multi. :LOL:

That's odd then? What sort of building is it?

Obviously what went on them would have been weatherproof, so maybe cladding? Pargetting panels? Cheapskate baddy builder saved on cement by using wood?

I'll take some pictures of them tomorrow. We're removing wetdash, although it isn't the original render.
