We tend to use a couple of old 6 inch nails which have been rounded off so do not scare to deep. Catch the gear not to wet still as this can make lining out difficult.Once scored a gently brush over with a nice soft brush to loose the spoils of the scarring process.

update on how we got on with the k lime

we mixed some in the mixer for small areas and dubbing out ,nice gear goes on well ...

in the plastering machine it was a bit of an arse to get right (we had a new clamped rotor & stator to wear in too)
tried different water settings and as has been said before it has to be wetter than you would like
apart from a material hose blockage ,once the water was sorted (425 ) we put 75 bags through with little problem

as mark said above

if you had a diesel machine you could prob spray it bit drier and being more powerful would help?

k lime

we only bought our s/h mschine last year so having now tried a few different materials we come to the conlusion klime is not best for electric machine
since last years post on this
material we have used it a few times

small areas were done by hand ..find the material goes on fine with a
quick set ,nice even colour when dry.

just doing 160 metres external on a house nr usk have had to again spray
wetter than i would like...reducing water tends to block hose, esp when stopping to move to new lift..

we continue to try different similar products

think.we will look for a diesel machine for this type of work ..
