Should bring out a ladybird one...
"This is a trowel, the plasterer uses the trowel to put plaster on the wall... See him make a mess."
"This is a joiner, he makes a mess and leaves it, see the plasterer swear at the joiner.."

Thats the main issue with sending a youngster to college on a apprenticeship. Do get me wrong what they learn good but they are being taught out dated methods which unless they go in to the specialist decorative market they will hardly ever use. Would it not be better to teach them methods and materials that are currently used day in day out on site? They should learn about machines and running a business as well.
I don't think they need to teach machine plastering at college for two reasons 1: Machines are only another way of throwing the gear on the wall & 2: In the grand scheme of things machine plastering is still a tiny fringe area of the trade.
And what would be the point in even telling them about the existence of BG Spray Finish, it's so hard for even you to get hold of it's almost like a plastering myth.
Yes its something that I have been considering for a while now. My friend is a publisher so it would be easy enough...lol
Danny
They teach them with ritmos in Holland the crazy fools
I think there is definitely a market for a plastering forum book out there, from the skimming to float and set, to rendering modern and old, screeding, corniche coving, @Danny with the input of the rendering experts , machine experts , pros and con sections, should use the advertisers to help pay for it, it would help to keep the forum on the front of plastering education and make a difference in the awards next time..
Sadly ,what to do when your knees are shot would be my title, Andy is lucky enough to be in better condition than I am .You and andy could write the "how to look after your knee's" section................:RpS_laugh:
Definitely worth a pop at, no need for anything too fancy,Oh of course compiling it would be a bit of an issue but publishing is not to bad.
Lol
