Laying on

So this year Iv had a few fairly awkward jobs, Celings that roll down on all 4 sides, bull nose bay windows that sort of thing, iv always started laying on the difficult areas first then banged the rest on once I’m happy there near enough, thinking about it though next time I get 1 I’m going to work the other way round so lay the easy part on first then finish on the awkward bits to give myself more time to work them in before I’m due a flatten. Anyone else work this way? What’s your preferred method of laying on?
Iv also always laid on from top to bottom of walls just because that’s the way i was taught and always have since but I fancy a change next year I may throw caution to the wind and lay on from bottom to top.
Can you tell I’m bored and ready to go back? Lol

No rules in this game!!!

Whatever's works best for you is best way!

Every one works different some weirdos even put a 2nd coat of skim on over plaster board!

Phhhhhhhhh

Try starting in bottom right hand corner , work way up and across to top left corner :chica:

That’s what Flynny does

I do the awkward shite sets first now... then do the easy bits last :D Nowt worst than wanting to go home and you some fiddly shite to do before you go

We've got similar ceilings on our current job. The four corner rooms of the first floor have rakes on two sides.
I'll start on the straightforward flat area and work as normal. I won't be putting the whole flat area on and then going round the rakes, just put it on as if them on as if they were just part of the flat area.
Not sure if that makes sense or not?

You mean put them on in the same set? I always lay the whole area on as 1 set but just work either from them out onto the flat area or from the flat into the angles

Sorry Tom I knew it'd be difficult to explain in words.
Yes definitely all part of the same set of they're rounded in but not treated as a separate item within the set. Just treat the ceiling as if were flat. Still not sure if I'm making sense?

I just start on ceiling . If theres any curves if I got time I.ll shape em with some bonding or skim

That' what I do though like to bond curves if I got time

Yeah I bond the curves out first.
Multi really doesn't like going on thick does it?
This'll be my first job when back in the New Year, just finished the boarding a few minutes ago.

I'm really enjoying a nice time off, going back on the 8th. Got some s**t to organise in the meantime but it's nice to switch you brain off. Next week I'll be getting back to people but to be honest it's the break from people not plastering that I'm enjoying. Had voicemails left on Boxing Day and I'm just like, ugh just leave me alone for a week before I get back on the treadmill
