Conversational English required. The course is FUNDED through STUDENT FINANCE (Further Education). Even you don't have any qualification (or you have already Level 2 qualification), you can apply directly on Level 3 FUNDED course if you have PLASTER experience. The course is WORK BASED and you don't need to come in the classroom (all the theoretical modules must be done online). The assessor will come at your workplace (everywhere in UK) two times to observe your work experience (your practical skills). After you start the course you can apply for a temporary card (Trainee Card) and you can work as a qualified PLASTER from that moment already.

Who are you, what is your connection to this wonderful course, how do I apply for it, and how much will it really cost me?
All theory and no practical is fine, my mate who I labour for can do any photo submissions for me and set me up with some easy flat skim for when the 2 visits are arranged. I've done a Weekend warriors course at Goldtrowel, (all flat no corners or narrow widths!) so that's the experience bit covered ok right.
 
Wasn't when I did it. Lvl 2 is two years is solid and what you need on site Lvl 3 is fibrous and dash and some other s**t I can't remember
 
What a load of shite . How can you do level 3 at work . I Did mine 22 years ago at college along side my apprenticeship . Level 3 covers screeding , fibrous and external rendering . We did dashing , reverse moulds, running moulds the lot . And I’ve never done any of it since . How can they give you a level 3 if you don’t cover any of that on site

three years to get my city and guilds, level 3, lath and plaster, running horses, reverse molds, shelac, hessian , mortuary floors, barrel ceilings, grano, slurrydash, f**k i have forgotten most of this !!
sad fact nowadays people skim and call there self a "plasterer"

But the NVQ is different to the qualification you have.
I did the NVQ level 3 in solid plastering and this didn't include any fibrous (obviously) or screeding. Complex internal and external finishes were the main criteria. The guys that came out to my place of work never witnessed me apply so much as a single hawkfull of gear. Apparently with the evidence I'd supplied it would have been insulting to ask to watch me. They actually suggested that I consider becoming a lecturer.

The idea of a trade is to give you an insight into the trade your learning and then you will generally specialise in one aspect of that trade.
It applies to the medical profession, engineering, art and even plastering. very few of us can excel in everything.

Ive done PTTLLS qualification. Was quite eye opening in some ways.
 
ALSO BOTH OF YOU HAVE FAILED TO NOTICE THAT IT SHOULD BE ptlls , SO YOU BOTH FAIL MISERABLY.

Just learning styles really mate. Its a general qualification, that you just apply to whatever you do.

Gets you thinking about how people learn. One is the VAK model which is visual auditory and kinaesthetic.

Some learn well by watching. Some by listening, some by being hands on, but could be a combination of 2 or all 3. If you're teaching and just constantly lecture to the students, then a lot will zone out as they don't learn like that etc. Its about trying to be aware of your students needs and if necessary adjusting your approach so that they can take onboard whatever you're teaching.

with all respect chrispy im old school and cant get my head round all this modern ways I spent 6 years learning on the tools got my arse kicked a few times which is now a criminal offence / but end results worked 49 years on I think Im getting the hang of it

Know where you're coming from Norm. Problem is, some kids get called thick or get left behind if they cant grasp something and it could be as simple in the way they're told or shown. If someone constantly tells them how to do something instead of showing them and getting their hands dirty then that could be the deciding factor in how they progress through life.

Seen apprentices dangled off 60ft scaffold for back chat, if you did that now.
