Did you do the plastering? What lime/mix have you used. Since when lime has the multi finish like ?
What was applied before the top coat?
Looks like someone's gouged it, not cracked. A crack wouldn't be chipped on the edges like that.
Looks like shrinkage to me......was the wall too dry before plastering? Is the room very warm? Others here will know more.No definitely a crack, I have the before filled picture somewhere.

It looks like shrinked paper , which is very common for multi finish. You can repair the crack by running Stanley knife along and it looks like someone has done it. That again is very common for multi . By the look of it , not sure if lime plasterer has done the job, but the person who has done it has very little, if not none, experience with lime. Timings and technics are screeming -skimmer. As for the last two pictures that's forced lime.No I didn't do this, plasterer has done this. Not sure I understand the multi finish question.
Perhaps you could limewash over it several times.So is there a fix, or does it need to come off. What are the preventative measures?
