Hi Guys

We are based in Twickenham, next to Richmond.. You can easily get £250 a day . It is a very specialist area... Richmond is in a bubble and people there will expect to pay for a good service.

Good Luck...

ime surprised your getting them rates boys that is not the norm in London, I know its an afluent area but its normaly its the ones with the money who dont want to pay. Things seemed to be looking up at the end of last year but everyone i know is doing nothing now, me included.

I charge £120-130 a day round Derby & Nottingham. Thats the going rate round these here parts!! :RpS_wink:
Luckily I hardly ever have to travel far either!! should count my lucky stars really.

i am in aldershot and work around the m3 corridor, same as other boys £170 a day no problem, although i know we are fortunate!!!!!

you prob got your info from the posts but there is no special rate for london in a recession. cost of living high or not.

I work in london and charge anywhere from £150.00 to £250.00 per day per man depending on the job. Plastering is hard, so you have to charge accordingly. After tax and overheads, you want to be taking home a half decent wage for the ammount of effort it took to earn it.

When I hear about people charging less than £100 for a days plastering, it just makes me think they are a mug or sh1ite at the job. Its a skilled trade and you gotta charge accordingly.

I see vans with 'rooms plastered for £250.00' thats way to cheap, so either they are doing a sh1t job or they are a mug. 1 room = 2 days @ £200 + £100 materials = £500 MINIMUM. if you work a bit harder, you get it done in a day, or just finish in the afternoion and return to complete.

Dont matter what area your in - plaster, beads, pva and fuel sill cost roughly the same.

Well, they are selling themselves short in my opinion. I know what its like if you ou dont have much on.... beggers cant be choosers. ut I still think alot of plasterers these days are charging far too little for the work and skill level involved.

£500 a room! Nice if you can get it! You just about get that for skimming a 3 bed new build up here now

Just been offered some 560 to skim. More worrying same price to board, dot and dab with 15mm soundbloc **** that

I find it the other way around TBH
the best plasterers i have ever come across get stuck in and are usually the cheapest the more expensive fancy plasterers as i call em charge alot more for alot less in the quality and quantity plus knowledge depts.

this is exactly why the fookin industry/union fixed rates scheme will never work. people charging 500 per room and others charging £80 for the same work ?? wake fookin up

£500 minimum,. I have charged £700 before. Ive charged 250 just for a lid. £80.00....? after materials fuel and tax whats left? wouldnt get outta bed for that.

you are talking domestic though shape sitework you wont get them rates and alot of spreads do sitework its all ive ever done

Im with shapeshifter, agree with everything you said matey, but at same time I know the guys up north have it tougher than us! so they are equally right!

BUT if things were good all over, 500quid a room is the going rate, and I have always found a lot of spreads seem to charge to little for what they do, why charge 250quid to knock a room out in a day, if you can charge 500 and do it in two, OR if your that quick, do it in a day but still charge 500 quid, youd be ******* minted! people need to back off of the quantity and start charging good dollar, WITHOUT having to kill yourself, it aint the victorian era, and we are entitled to a good wage anf fair living! unless however.. the competition is as it is which makes if ******* immpossible! but that is why we need fixed rates like sparkies and plumbers do! wouldnt get them working for peanuts.

hiya lads ive been told by a spread i met at my friends birthday party telling me he's on 1.90m and there doing 4 gauges a day and thats on a site in liverpool, fook me can that rate be possible?

very possible firms now know that a spread on his own ie no labourer can do 60 -80 m2 so they have now set the prices accordingly .i also agree with shapeshifter charge as much as you can get and over the years ive had hundreds of "touches" problem is there not around any more

its true. thats why when I get tenders in for plastering lately, they go straight in the bin - i dont wast the time even pricing at the mo there is no way i would go in so low that I have to ask the lads to work on those rates

I would never do it for £80 either but the flyers are going round with exactly that but £500 is a rip off - half that and your nearly there

i can understand mate its just the way it is at the moment. it begs the question to say that, the quality must suffer for them prices ? so the one coat skimming seems moral?

Shapes what part of the uk are you in .£500 is that the going rate for a room round your way and it take you 2 days.

i agree with you shapes, same sort of prices i charge . **** em if they dont like it let them get the bozzos to make a mess of it. id rather labour for 80 a day
