There's no such trade as Plasterer in eastern Europe, rendering usually done by a good brickie but they hard to find, tapers do exists these days but most started their careers as decorators or gardeners. They do get away with it there and here too, I'm sure you seen some photos posted here before, price is a factor for most people, they just want to get it done not interested in the end result only just the cost. Most houses 90% get ewi installed but there's no grants for it like here, so people often throw a crappy render on the house till they can afford the ewi

Need house built cheap cheap we do everything cheep cheap so if you want a cheap cheap job you'll hire them for cheap cheap price & cry like fook when it goes tits up!its the people who employ them who shud hold their heads down in shame dont mind competition just need a level playing field plasterers day rate & price work hasn't gone up much over the last 15 -20 years or so if anything it's the same it's funny that cos theirs a big difference in house prices over same period everything else as gone up its mad! You don't have to be thick to be a spread but it helps.... mini rant over & zolco not sayin nothing about eastern euros met loads good & bad
 
Down my way there's little banners tied to lamposts on roundabouts saying cheap polish plasterer lol..i agree its the customers so its funny wen it goes tits up..if I went over to Poland id prob be s**t as its different ways surely in materials etc
 
I worked in Germany in 95 dint have a scobbie G4 machine silo feed spats sponges thought what the fook! Took me a while to get the hang of it but like anything if you try hard you'll make it work my point is I went there for the money at the time it was £1 m2 on site here & there wasn't tons about over there it was 10 marks m2 for 1 coat work the exchange rate meant I was getting £4.40m2 the German spreads didn't mind the English cos we kept their money up it was the eastern euros they couldn't compete with doing it for half batt!the same thing has happened in this country

I agree with you, it's the customers fault. There are good ones and bad ones in any nationality. Thing is most who came here recently like 3-4 years ago they got nothing to lose, they got nothing back at home, only maybe a crappy ex-communist era flat or a shitty old house. 40-50 quid a day goes a long way for them. 5-6 people cramped in a room, cooking cheap food every day and a cheap six pack, rest of the money goes back home to support the elders and half the village. I'm not saying have sympathy for them, but 90% of the time they work for an English gaffa who makes a mint on them. Also the gypsum products are virtually unknown abroad so they unable to pick up any info and skills related to it.

If there getting £50-£60 a day and signing on etc then there are practicly living like millionaires bk home..thats y I luv it wen it goes tits up for the customer..like sum1 said on here many moons ago it all depends which market ur competing in,the work we do for the little builders etc wudnt have that kind of s**t work so there are not our direct competition..the good spreads who charge decent rates are our competition
