Tools on the BOARD organised not looking evryware for small tool hammer tape gauging. A spot board is a sign of organised plaster like old school. s**t from bucket wher do you think you are benidom playing sand castle. Bucket OK for a small gauge

Just never got on with them mate. Gear goes off with any slight breeze too.

Oh lurpy.
Gear goes off quicker in a bucket than on a spot you know nothing courser.

b*ll***s . On a board its open to draft etc . Clean bucket will keep longer. Why do you think all fillers n stuff come in buckets/tubs and not on plates u mug

Not long ago I was thinking the same, but extended experiments proved that the temperature actually sets the plaster in the buckets. Touch the bottom at the end of the mix.

Not debating lol just can’t get on with them. More things to carry and setup. Bucket on top of few bags of gear sorted.
Everybody got different methods. Whatever works for you might not work for me. I do bucket on small jobs wher ther no room for spot. I'd hate scoping from bucket all day on big jobs be like serving gravy all day. Nice to have straight back from spot

Spot board for old boys with bad backs ! I mix up and pour it on floor then scoop from there just because my backs bulletproof
Lol. It won’t be forever mate! I love a spot & stand personally but like @zombie said in lots of domestics it’s just not viable. I work out of a bucket on doms myself. (y)

Just one of them aint it mate, whatever you use for them first few years cements it into you I think. I just see a board as extra kit extra faffin extra cleaning as still need to clean bucket plus board etc.

But I know spreads who can’t work without one.

Swings n dongs

Back in the day all spreads made their own stands and hopups out of wood. You could almost always tell what the standard of work would be like just from the way their kit was made, just like chippies.
