Hi - I belong to a damp and timber firm in East Kent. We are trying to recruit a plasterer to join our team in house, but we would also be happy to accept somebody on a sub contracted basis.

We've had quite a few plasterers trial with us but nobody seems able to work with washed sand render. Its a key part of the remedial damp work process.

We're a small firm with large overheads so we can only pay so much, but surely there must be somebody in or around Herne Bay in Kent who is looking for a job or is able to take on some sub contracted work. We have several large projects coming up in the next few months (including after our Christmas shut down) so can offer long term steady work. You will have support from our labourers and if appropriate access to a vehicle and tools. If you are interested please contact Bryan on 01227 364332.

Also how can you be a small firm with big overheads?
Someone doesn't know how to run things or there just trying to grab as much profit as possible.
If your a specialist firm that does specialist work I'm sure you charge specialist money so in return want specialist people which also costs specialist money.
If you want to pay peanuts you'll get monkeys!

At the end of the day it might be a good opertunity for somebody and as figures (very correctly were not posted) why have a go and be negative? I applaud all who offer work on the forum. It's taken me down south where they talk funny and to France where they were more understanding lol

Tbh if they would of just posted about the job and not mentioned small company big overheads can't pay much etc then I would of liked the post.
That's as good as posting rates to me!
Why dont they just see what people come back with first?

This is no different to a client ringing you and saying I'd really like my house rendered in the new colour render stuff, new fascia, soffit, etc and I'll get the drive done after your finished but I haven't got much money left so what's the cheapest you can do it for, o and please don't get any splashes on my brand new car!

Cheers then!

I'll bet anyone that a lot of people would of got in touch IF they hadn't mentioned the crap about that!
It's like there expecting pity for it.

Pissing myself when I read that, small firm large overheads.

Small firm large director salaries more like, screwing the workers in to the ground no doubt.
