Time as come for me to change my trusty old 1996 lwb transit had new wheel arches last year and resprayed the bottom qaurter never had any problems with it at all, looking at renault master around 02-03 plate, also been looking at the ldv maxus can get a 05 plate for around £3000 but have heard a lot of bad things about these,
has any of you lot had any of these vans if so are they reliable

renault master is a classic i had one years ago and found it to be a gr8 van! looks good in a matalic paint aswell!

Fancy a merc sprinter?

I'm selling mine, because I want one of them 200bhp Vitos :)

It's an 03 Semi Automatic 6 speed (tiptronic) its an auto but you can change gear yourself if you like.

Just spent £400 on the gear changer with receipt

80000 miles no idea how big the engine is but it pulls fully loaded with ease

Twin side load doors, giving fantastic access. Its racked out perfectly for a plasterer too, theres two shelves in the back, I keep all plaster on the floor then tools on the middle shelf and ladders scafolds and that on the top shelf, one of the side loads is sectioned off for ocasional tools like cordless' sencos etc. And has a section for plasterboard, and another for dust sheets it IS the most analy racked out van ever

Power steering, ABS, Brake assist, Active stability programe, basically it weighs what you have in the back every time you turn the ignition on and wont let you drive round corners too fast etc, I've wanted to test it a few times but never had the bottle. It has a special cabin heater too that warms up the inside quicker

ASR this means you cant wheel spin when setting off

Blue tooth hands free kit, you dont even need to take your phone out of your pocket it just links up its self when you switch the ignition on.
Its a very nice van to drive and just went through its last MOT with nothing needing doing at all. You can chat comfortably on the motorway doing 85 MPH.

Couple of very minor dints and some odd rust spots but all in ok for a 6 year old

That Brabus Vito is a florists van.

The proper Brabus vito can be wound up to 279 BHP, it will beat 90 odd percent of cars at the lights

You just need a f*ckin big padlock on the back doors to stop your gear flying out :)

I just had a PM asking the same thing, I have no idea I dont know what its worth.

I'll have a look tomorow on tinternet and promise I wont try to get maximum price just a reasonable price for it.

Like you'd be carrying gear in 30 grands worth of van. You'd have to buy new tools on the way to work every morning, ditch them at the end of the day, and get all your materials delivered. Like I did when I first got my VW.

giv me a pm when you do mate am defo intrested in geting a bigger van, av got a combo at the moment its s**t hot but just a bit to small for me

FFS!

You would expect similar vans to be at similar prices wouldnt you, maybe a couple of hundred difference.

Ive seen one with over 187 000 miles on it at over £5000 then one with 120 000 at £3000.

I cant find one that has twin side load doors and a tiptronic anywhere neither.

Ive just seen a skanky R reg tranny for £1500 <----- what's that all about?

Theres an advert mate thats on telly were the bloke puts the reg into his mobile and it goes i think to the dvla and they send him back a txt of the value of the vehicle. I cant remember the number though ...soz :-\
Does anyone else know it ?

Me neither!

They will keep sending text messages to you that YOU pay for, and lots of them, how else could the afford to advertise on tv?

Does £3500 sound reasonable for my van?

3.5k sounds reasonable 80k on a diesel is no wear at all have you changed cam belt

Well f*ck 3500 then let me put it up to £4000 :)

The post above is correct it has chains, two of them by the looks of it, you can see them through the - fill your oil up hole.

The only thing I dont like about this van is 1st gear is so low ratio and the acelerator is dead sensitive.

some of the vito's are chains.

I read somwhere ALL Merc's went to chains years ago, because the warranty covered it so they wanted no expensive engine replacements on their hands.

And of course they are German and Mercedes so they do things correct not half arsed.

be careful with the merc cdi engines they have shocking injector seals that leak thus welding the injectors into the head and wrecking the top end. 8/10 have to be drilled out. wanna buy my vito?
