Wats thoughts fellas. Was going to give It another go cause didn't really like the one I got last time . Just as getting it and it got major dink so that was that. Any advice

Just use the money buying Special Brew and any change can buy some clean underpants after you have passed out and shat/pissed yourself :birra:

has anyone got and tried the nela mediflex yet
I have one and its very similar to the origional refina superted. Only real difference is the handles. I swap and change using both but to be honesti just been using my old MTs last couple of week as decorators on these jobs are demanding flat un polished walls.

How have you found going back to a standard trowel marshy have you found of any harder?

And hand on heart do you feel you produce a better/ more consistent finish?

My arms ached going back to my MT's for couple of days and the finish is more matt than shiny plus don't get as many blebs second coating and troweling up. Don't get me wrong the superteds great on plasterboard but on a reskim over pissed walls the old MT's seem better as if going on that little bit thicker with a superted it's bleb city everywhere I'm finding anyway

I find s*p*r*lex do cause blebs if you use them too early especially if it's on a but thick for reskims. I got a speedskim few weeks ago now my method is first coat, speed skim, second coat, speed skim, another once over with speed skim then once with the MT and final trowel with a s*p*r*lex. Not had any blebs since and been using no water which I think might help aswell.

Feel like a plonker asking but can't get it out my head ..I don't want everyone to break out into a trowel wars over this serious question..can't remember if it was @Marshy or @scottie5 who said they sometimes use supaflex for putting on gear as well as finishing ( if I got my facts wrong apologies) I just want to know is that true I never have done it but would try if they said they had and was ok.

It depends which s*p*r*lex.
There isn't a hope of laying on or flattening with a Nela s*p*r*lex, the Refina ones are stiffer so I suppose you could, as they and Nela mediflex are on a par with each other.

Thanks ...been trying to find the thread i seen it on i sure it was a Nela supaflex, one of them said it I meant to ask them when I saw it but forgot cus it turned into trowel warfare..
Flipping heck hope I got me facts right now or I defo going to look a total plonk

I second coat on plasterboards and trowel up with a superted. But these last few jobs I've done are old walls and ceilings and all over the place so went back to my MT's. Can't believe you don't know what blebs are @Danny o_Oo_O

@Marshy I only ask as I went back to a ss mt after a while polishing with plazy etc...and I believe that the finish is far better and more consistent and if I'm honest I think I was having myself on thinking otherwise...

Noticeable sadly on the elbow but I genuinely believe its the way to finish cross sections of substrate apose to these other gizmos which I think really only work consistently on low suction areas!

Yep i feel your pain mate. I was shocked just how much less strain and pain you endure using a superted but on old pissed walls ceilings etc they just cause lots of blebs. But on plasterboards or decent shaped walls etv om a reskim the superted does have a place in your trowel box :birra:

That's our method now but with water..dont you use any water at all not a drop?

That's are method as well ,only use water to clean trowel, what's the point of wetting walls, when the objective is for them to set as quick as possible..? We always work with a rolling gauge just keep dropping back
Everyone to there own

Jls known a couple of spreads work for them arnt there rates s**t? We've done jobs b4 for Keith where walls have been 25mm out and more and we had to dub out and he give us abit of dubbing out money but wasn't worth it in my eyes If ur putting on double the amount of gear u shud get double the rate but you dont

Just along edges really, maybe a wee splash half way along when using the MT. I could probably skip the MT trowel but can't trust there to be no bumps just using speedskim and s*p*r*lex
