The property is a fairly new build made from brick is there any need to mesh if brickwork is solid will just base coat do ,or i was thinking microgo and and no base ?

I can't see why you'd have to mesh brick it's worth ringing the supplier you're using and ask them just to be sure
I'd imagine just the stress points around windows and doors

It's not for a key though Is it church more to add strength to the scratch coat
Welcome back btw :-)

or less then 7 newton ,then mesh ,if not just the normal around openings, with added stress mesh patches on the corners

Its only works out about £1 ish m2 to use mesh so why not use it...........:RpS_thumbup:

i dont know how else i can explain it other than i always price for mesh when using mono...................whats hard about understanding that................:RpS_confused:

I reckon its well G** as well, if the blockworks gonna crack its gonna crack. Parex spec sheets dont guarantee against cracking even.

Might be G** to mesh every job but its surprising how much of a selling point it is to customers (private works) can charge more anyway ! plus i find it helps with banging on another layer of mono if building up to 18mm stops any bellowing.

nowt G** about it mate, its a better job, takes no longer really, and anyone would have it for an extra pound a metre

i agree its worth doing, but as an option, not as standard. i just dont like doing it out of choice. surely you charge more than £1 p/m supply and fix?

Thats the cost it works out at to buy a roll nick not to fix it as well. you god damn lunatic...........:RpS_thumbup:

i know what it costs, thats my point :RpS_confused:

so not everyone would have it for an extra £1 a meter when you wouldnt charge that???

i was answering jfe btw :-)

Remember that job I got into trouble with last year with them Ba@t1rds Weber!

I used to offer full mesh for £2 a metre extra and strongly advised them to have it. Only one customer took up the offer in 3 years! I asked the last 3 Weber customers why they didn,t take up the offer and they all said they could,t see the point in paying £2 a metre extra when the work was warranted against defect anyway.

That bitch who,s Weber job cracked on even denighed me ever offering it. So now it is built into the price. I fully mess and again over stress area in opposite directions. people say I go well overboard with crack control but after the shite that bitch put through I now can prove that every precaution that can be taken has been taken.

I do not use the cheap Chinese mesh but German sourced and the cheapest is from Stomix at £37 + vat. Weber has been sold recently at Minster for £40 + vat and SPS is £57 + vat then SAS is a whopping £78 + vat. They either pay for or have someone else.

if you do a job for a big developer its the same price for a full mesh or for mesh to openings or even no mesh so yes we charge an extra pound a metre

How much do you charge for labour for laying in the mesh just as you trowel over your first pass ? ? its only a fraction of time

in fact you still do the same in a day weather it took longer in the process or not......

....see boys were just great value here at JFE spam spam spam

John if you're doing a thin coat system do you think it takes the same amount of time doing the base coat and mesh as the tight coat to cover imperfections? You still have to cut the mesh etc you're mental charging the same price unless you have a decent price it's extra work
