Hi, am new to this forum and would welcome some advice on what can be done (apart from chipping it off!) to improve a the look of an external house wall which has been recently rendered. Because of the weather, the topcoat of render was applied over three days. However you can certainly see the "joins" and a fair bit of pitting. Thought about painting it with a high yield paint but was wondering if there is any way to smooth/improve it beforehand.

Let the guys on here know where you are based ,then they will help out mate :RpS_thumbup:

I am taking it that it is flat render?

So long as it is solid then as Gibbo say's you can go over it with a bucket coat. Tyrolean as mentioned or if it is a bit bumpy then a thin coat render system fully meshed with a bucket coat finish.

If it is dashed then chop the reveals back and two coat over the top.

This is so the place to go for advice after some bellends have trash rendered your house. Sound advice from the boys

Hi guys, Thanks to all of you for replying so soon. Based about 5 miles from Chester. I am really keen to get this job finished and Gibbo's idea of a 1.5mm acrylic sounds brill. Problem being, as I've never come across acric render, would just like to know how the finish would compare to the other three walls? They are all smooth/solid, in fact three look great, it's just the (main) front wall that everyone can see passing by that looks like a ski run. Can you recommend an acylic finish? If I can get this right I'll post some before and after photos, hopefully with me smiling outside the front door. The wife says I've got to stay outside until this is sorted! Thanks again for all of your advice.

You could do with bucket coating them all. Or at least paint the others the same Ral colour.
