How does this devil up? Doing a little job for a pal today 7m2 wall hardwall and set. Just floated it up and it's awful dragged like buggery. Perhaps it was me but bring on the s+c next week.

When i float i try to rub up with no nails in and leave to set before devil floating for a key but some lads will run a brush over for a key.
Im guessing you used hardwall to get it done in a day as you usually prefer s&c but would have to come back later to skim?

Spot on. I found a light spray of water helped reduce the dragging but there's gotta be a better way.

A lot of it is down to timing with hardball, having said that, all plastering is down to timing lol, I have one really old float that's lovely and smooth with just one nail in to key up and keep it just for hard wall, but then I always run my steel over it befor it goes solid to flatten in any lumpy drags and cut your corners and clean your floor and ceiling lines. Refina do a diamond shaped backing float you could try, some people sponge there backing coats , try a few methods till your happy with the results,
