Just to stray off topic slightly parex dpr contains a chemical known to the state of California to cause cancer. Don't want a job lot of that additive!

I have made up my own sbr modified sand & cement recently. 3ltrs to a belle mixer full first coat and 2.5 ltrs to the second. Creamy stuff to use with 5 washed sand 1 cement and fibres chucked in. What surprised me though was I got a bit of suction in the base coat? I thought the sbr would have waterproofed it.

Weber OCR is just short of £5 a bag here and the CPI gp stuff I tried was nice stuff but not as nice as Webers ocr. The CPI was well water proof!

Does CPI Spray well ?

SPS C+G is is bit like a combination of rend aid and ocr. Nice stuff to rule flat but too sticky to rub up. You have to sponge finish it. Not a paint it quality finish but you would get away with synthetic. Anyone else here used it?

HiRigsby,

We have sprayed many tonnes of the CPI GP and it does sprays well. Although there can be some odd big nasty aggregate in there sometimes which sounds like pea shingle through the machine. The top coat will hang,so its ideal for larger elevations. OCR has the edge for quality in my opinion but as always price dictates the direction of a job.

Im a plasterer mate, not a manufacturer.

If youd taken the time to read all the posts youd see i wasnt trying to re-invent anything, simply could i put SBR in the top coat of s&c to get something that behaved in a similar way to a bagged product.

If you want to use something off the shelf then go for a pint fill yer boots not really that interested to be honest.

Since this post started ive managed to get OCR from £9 down to £5 and CPI at £3.25. The whole point of me starting the thread was because i was getting spanked at the merchants, and was looking for another alternative.

With the help and some leads of some on here im now sorted, but cheers anyway.

how did u get your cpi for 3.25? i just got quoted 3.75

Do encon do OCR as well as parex? Would ring but it's Sunday. Parmurex is lovelly gear but is late 6s a bag(30kg).
