evening all, had an interesting day doing some mono render work. Got to job this morning rendering over insulation, first thing that got my attention was angle bead rather than mesh bead? Anyway carried on mixed up and applied render manually, ruled off with serrated edge, bed in mesh and run trowel over it. Mix up bit of fresh gear put a tight coat on and spat off with Refina spat. Had some lunch and proceeded to tyrolean with Basecoat? Put some pics up the top picture is progress so far, problem is the tyrolean has got to go on much heavier than that, more like a rough cast. Anyway my mate got pissed off and cleaned his tools and got back in the van at half two. Leaving me to it. To get anywhere near how heavy it needs to be it will require several more coats on it. Is it wise to tyrolean over cured basecoat, normally everything is wet on wet? Thinking a machine would be handy at the moment. Thoughts gentleman? I'm just making it up as I go along to be honest, I'm a mono novice.

you have matched the existing render, which looks more like rough cast then tyrolean.
i spray tyrolean very fine.
we do not use a rule on ewi. apply base coat, bed in mesh. scrape off excess, lay in and spray.

No serrated spat or notched trowel?

Cheers malc, looks like I'm not going too far wrong judging by replies. So many brands and products and methods with the modern renders it's easy to get confused.
