Mono

hello I done a course on k rend and done over 15 jobs of monocuche now the thing I'm still finding difficult is little holes appearing when scraping back ? Also once I've done my hp12 or hpx I scratch that follow day hose down apply first pass then use serrated edge on first pass as the k tend instructor told me to then apply second pass then spat it and cloWe in the scrape back following day ?

Use the scraped stuff to refill any smalls holes. If your scraping same day and you can clump the dust in your palm it's good to use. Just over fill the hole and then make sure you finish that bit agin before you go home.

Yeah I've been doing that filling in holes but just want to know I'm doing it the right way in right order and I'm using k tend not Webber guy at course said use serrated edge on first pass of colour then apply second pass spat it over and close in?

So don't bother serrated ever the first pass do it on second pass and then spat and close in? Another questionn I can never scrape back in same day no matter what temp or how early I get it up ?

Use a serrated straight edge it helps reduce trapped air.

Watering the scratch coat down will give you loads of air bubbles.

Okay so no hose down wall I only do that because of any dust and the bloke on course said to do it ? So don't do it and you won't get air bubbles and use serrated edge on second pass thanks for all your help

I couldn't think of anything worse than going over a hosed basecoat with mono. It would be sliding about like f**k, forget trying to get thickness!
