If he can find a consistent accelerator say 30 mins a bag id be all over it.
A 5g sachet of cot per bag of finish will re***d multi at a constant rate.
Can't think of any situations house bashing that this might be of any benefit.
I personally find speeding the tools up is better then trying to slow the materials down.

Sounds like a good idea to me.
If I could just put one set on a day then have the rest of day to trowel up that would be ideal.
Good idea for spraying multi as well 2 bigger hits instead of 3.

Good for us beginners so we could get an extra wall on without shitting my pants that its all gonna go pete tong. More comfortable experimenting with bigger sets

Not being one to want to piss on a camp fire....waitrose currently have 3 for 2 on this and its only usually 99p a tub anyway.

Half a tub (50p worth when not on offer) will slow 3 bags down by an hour. U'd need £6 worth of that stuff for the same results and u'll feel posher shopping at waitrose.

Lol This was invented for chancers :D

Why would anyone want to add an extra hour to a set ffs!

Can I have a few free bags please Danny

Does it work with easi-fill
Scottie maybe it'll mean you can lay 2 full rooms on instead of just the one:coffe: even the pro's can use a bit of additional time if they use their noggins.....

great fackin rates will drop even lower now!!!

all youl here off all the builders is just through some of them sachets in youl get it all done in a day blablabla!!!

If you have too much for one hit Adding cot will let you get the extra on so you can do it in one instead of two. There's your time saving.

When I throw on a full bag now ( the 25kg ones) I don't want to slow it down so I'll be there all day, I need rapido, home by 10am sh1t

I remember back in early eighties going to work Sat with my old man, the labourer had a bucket of quicklime beside him and would dip plunger in and add to hardwall during mixing , think it served same purpose , anyone remember?

No chance.

Hard wall. .. early eighties...

You'll have to forgive paddy's terminology, skimming of any kind is regularly referred to as hardwall, (God knows why!!!)
Hence when Irish gypsum started importing hardwall from uk, they had to rebrand it 'hard coat', to stop the misunderstanding, must have cost them a few bob.....

Lime wouldn't really slow down a set paddy, it was put in to break it down when going over sand lime backgrounds as pure gypsum had a tendency to be too strong and could be prone to popping.
Old timers carried putting it in through 'it's what I've always done' I'd guess at least.

How much creme of tartar would you use per bag for similar effect?
