have heard multi is going up on price to help the sale of uni finish!
How true that is i dont know.
Will be using board finish from now on :RpS_thumbup:

The price varies everywhere, Uni finish is not really selling, the travis rep said "plasterers are not used to it yet" I said they just dont like it or trust it.

iv got ashfly walls to skim already pva the walls but was going to use uni finish as well , what you all think?

Cant believe BG never took the advise of a lot of spreads on here who said they wouldnt pay for it coz its too dear, then go and put it out at a silly price then wonder why its not sellin, this place is great for market research and the same thing kept poppin up "too F*****g dear". Alan sugar would be sayin to someone now "Your fired".

When health and safety reduced bags to 25kg, the price for the new 25kg was the same as for 50kg old bag in a short time, shopping around is the only way. They have us by the short and..

I think bg " think " they have the internal wet plastering bagged up with no competition, which to a certain extent they do.

Hence the pricing and control they have, they can charge what they want.

If bg stopped selling finish tomorrow loads of guys would be affected, including me, I have never bought the white knauf finish.

If you remember the shortage of plaster a few years back, I tried every type of plaster ,finish was brought in from Ireland etc, it was not easy to get used to a different type of plaster..

External stuff is not all the same but it still sells and works.

Lafarge should bring something out to provide competition for british gypsum I don't think Saint gobain own lafarge do they.

Also knauf should push there gear more, if they are stand alone and not owned by saint gobain

Knauf should do a "mp75 roadshow"

I swear if they get some decent guys to show how good a fiish you can get with it any sane plasterer would never float and set again.

I had only heard of this stuff recently, never used it or seen it used.. is it expensive?

£6.50 ish a bag mate - Think we i costed it against hadwall/skim it worked out almost the same or slightly cheaper per m2

Hell of a lot quicker though

Not too expensive sounding, I bought 4 bags dricoat for £61 the other day, whats its general use , forgive a 46 yr old school guy who thought he knew everything once..

Had a look at it online, do you machine or hand plaster. is the finish similar to multi?

Travis in wandsworth london, the are travis but specialise in plaster products, they said I had a big discount on that as I have a trade card. Hurt the pocket to be honest, could not use a lot at that rate

feels that way, I used to use renovating plaster yrs back for the same purpose of exteral walls needing patching internally, but the done away with that stuff , the renovating stuff is different today I am sure

i use the renovating plaster from Kingfisher and its more expensive than the dri-coat but got to use kingfiher gear for there guarantees..its good gear though
