Multi Finish on Multi Finish

Unbelivable is this forum sometimes..this is wat I've been saying all along about college and courses..im lost for words..and as sum1 said dont call urself a plasterer ur a handy man at best with the sounds of it..please tell me ur doing it for free? Put pics up wen uve reskimmed the same wall as I cant believe uve got cheek to slate sum1 else's work out when ur asking s**t like that I bet urs is no better..f**k me I'm turning into flynny lol
You've got me all wrong you moaning c**t xx

I've actually pissed myself laughing at this thread, some proper funny people when I was at college I knew nothing about crystals ect the madness that gets taught is unbelievable these days and a major worry that these people are going into people's homes talking this stuff and actually getting the jobs, still 900 quid for that wall easy money

The only crystals i need in plastering is my daily fix of crystall meth to get me through the day.:loco:

I reskimmed over multi after being on my course for an hour......in the door, pva, then skim.

Mac- the picture of the fireman just tickled my funny bone for some reason and I been sat in the middle of mcdonalds laughing like a spaz for the last 5 minutes.....people giving me sidewards looks now....probably think im drunk.

I had a young lad that went to college then came to us, told me he was a plasterer so thought at best he would be a improver , couldn't even wash a bucket out properly his skim was awful asked him to put a cupboard ceiling on and he was in there until it was rock hard, looked bloody appalling! There was nothing he didn't know about plastering 95% was crap he was taught be a plastering instructor that had a years experience after coming out the army.
So this is what is going to be hitting the domestic market as they won't earn a penny on site

Lots of lecturers are fresh out of college which is a shame... I think you have to be worth your salt before you can teach....

I listen to Branson about business I listen to Google about search... I would learn from a plasterer about plaster

wickens ? thats a big plastering family from south east?? or maybe the crystal meth is kicking in :bailando:
He was the tutor I thought he would be dead now cos he was Defo in his late 60s when I was there but apparently he still doing a bit and as for the meth I felt like I've had a load still scratching my head at the post :aburrido:

You like the college lark Danny I can tell, but read this thread, and the other one with GaMo regarding qualifications & nvq' sand this is what the colleges are churning out, absolute clueless numpties.
The fact on the other thread that an nvq at one level or another can decide what card you get or what money your earn..... Well, laugh or cry the choice is yours [emoji23]

Your point about a trades minimum wage Danny, how can this stand up? Because from what I've read on here in the last 48hrs there are people that might be 'qualified' that aren't worth a tenner a day.

I think the whole college system needs a shake up....

Any trade worth his salt should not work below a set amount... everyone that does is helping devalue the trade....

Qualified or not you either can do it or you can't. ...

Thing is a lot on here did the right way and never thought they was a plasterer and had good blokes teaching them real tradesmen and it worked out well in today's generation that piece of paper they give out technically pleases the people at the top so they fill quotas and earn off the schemes and to make it worse the people who have been given the nvq come up with silly questions like this one and then call themselves plasterers,I still think that for many now plastering is not seen as a skill anymore when we all know it can't be taught in a year regardless

Absolutely I think the old way is the way it should go back too... but have lecturers that have proved themselves..

I feel it should be an honour to teach.... not just handed out as a job

Agree with you both, but there are all levels of people worth differing amounts from zero upwards, &it hats why a minimum wage will never work

I wouldn't of called myself a plasterer for about 3 years and even then I would get shouted back down and told to stop talking nonsense and to keep working the thing on this thread at the start about crystals and that I hold my hands up I didn't ever get taught that and there is probably a reason I never as well cos it's a load of crap, skills wise this trade is one of the easiest to mess up and gets pulled apart and that's why I think being time served learning the game is the only way,I wouldn't mind helping out teaching a few people but they have to be keen and willing don't think a lot can be taught in 6 weeks though

I was unsure about calling myself a plasterer when I was 20, and I was doing it at weekends with my dad since I was 13, moment of revelation cam when my dad had to have an operation, and my uncle put me on a 50/50 split with him, which at the time I didn't think I was entitled to......
Just thought to myself, 'fookin hell, I'll have to get stuck in here'
