I've just started using our pallet of Board Finish and yes it's definitely better than the Multifinish but still not as it used to be.
Still a bit of striping here and there but does trowel up better.
I'm convinced that the stripes are caused by there being different materials in the gear that haven't been fully mixed together, or won't, and that one of the materials expands at a slightly different rate to the rest causing the stripes.

I use pretty much exactly the quantity they say.
On Wednesday I did a 27sqm ceiling with just under three bags.

Tbh I get a good amount out of 3 bags. any rough walls are bonded so always do 2 right coats. Definitely noticed a difference in the multi and board

I always put it on tight to be fair been making the first coat thick second one sloppiness seems to be working better.

also depends what were skimming of course. board can put tight as f**k n lay it down immediately. Artex thats hanging plus thicker first have to wait before tight lay down. f**k it who cares ol

With domestic overkims have to be that much more patient before second coat otherwise Much harder to get a finish using hardly any water. Board is nice at the moment and drying out all one even colour using carbon start to finish.
